Those of our guests who have stayed with us before are well aware of our exceptional standards. Covid rules aside, The Hyde is meticulously cleaned in between every booking by our amazing housekeeper, Jo. The bedlinen and towels are all professionally laundered. Clean pillows, duvets, rugs, and blankets are provided for every guest; we don’t just change the covers! 

If you are arriving by train or plane, or would prefer not to have the hassle of shopping for groceries, we can arrange a delivery from Waitrose or Tesco and will see everything is put away in the fridge and larder prior to your arrival. Please advise us well in advance, as delivery slots sell out fast in the busy season.

The Hyde scores high with respect to its Eco Credentials, having a large solar PV system which, on clear days, makes more electricity than we use.

The cabin is built with a wood frame, clad in Larch, and is extensively insulated to keep our guests warm in winter and cool in summer.

The Hyde’s water comes from a deep well and is pure and sweet. The water is filtered and regularly tested. Our water is not only good to drink, but is a treat for your hair and skin.

We supply water bottles for you to fill up and take to the beach, or on your walk, so you don’t need to buy plastic bottles when you are out and about.

We do not use air purifiers. Look outside, and you will see the trees are coated in Lichen; a positive sign the air is as pure as it comes. Suffering from the pollution of city living; relax outside in the hammocks and take a deep lung full of fresh, beautiful air, and you will instantly feel reenergised.

Recycling is important to us and to the world we inhabit. We provide bins for you to dispose of your rubbish without too much fuss and a separate food waste bin for the compost, which helps us to grow wonderful organic salad to give our guests in the summer.  The Nespresso pods are collected and taken to a specialist reprocessing plant in the UK to separate the packaging from the used coffee grounds. The coffee grounds are used to create soil improver and renewable energy. The plastic and aluminium transformed into new products such as beverage cans.

And cycling is important. Leave your car at The Hyde, walk or cycle to the beach, have breakfast in the café or a cocktail whilst watching the sunset and pick up all the provisions you need in the village shop. And, with advance notice, we can have your groceries delivered to The Hyde. Every little helps.

Our kitchen paper, loo paper and tissues are supplied by a company called ‘Who Gives a Crap’. The paper is made from bamboo which has less of an impact on the climate and they give 50% of their profits to see everyone has clean water and a toilet.

Cornish Changeovers, our professional cleaners, use a complete cleaning system to be proud of. Not only are the products great for the environment, they also use no single-use plastic

Last, but certainly not least, the Noble Isle bathroom products we treat our guests to not only smell delicious and feel great but are Vegan, cruelty-free and devoid of parabens. The extracts are as remarkable for their benefits to skin and body as they are for the pure pleasure of their aromas. Noble Isle further reduces its footprint by balancing sleek, stylish packaging with eco-credentials. They recycle the containers, the packaging and any left-over contents. The result, of course, is that both your body and mind get a boost – not to mention the planet: kindness to oneself is mirrored in kindness to the world we inhabit.

We have hosted many a Vegan guest.  We welcome Vegan guests with a seasonal treat from our garden: organic salad, strawberries or grapes, instead of the Cornish Cream tea.

Our bathroom products are Vegan, cruelty free and devoid of parabens.

Although we do not claim The Hyde’s kitchen is meat free, we can provide a set of pans and chopping boards we keep specifically for Vegans if we are advised in advance.

We have hosted many a happy honeymoon couple over the last four years. The Hyde not only offers total privacy to escape to and celebrate but, is a place in which to make memories to last a lifetime and to return to time and time again.

Aside from champagne on ice and local strawberries (in season) to welcome you, there is a whole lot more we can do to make your honeymoon special, including stocking the fridge and larder with groceries so you don’t have to.
